Baseball Games and Homecomings

Well, this has been an amazing weekend.

Friday night we went over to mom and dad's house for dinner. Will played with Grandma and Grandpa for a long time, and when it was time to go to bed he didn't want to got to sleep. So, we ended up heading home earlier than we normally would.

We got home around 10 pm. When I walked into the house from the garage I could hear meowing and I looked around to see if one of the cats was crying. I noticed that both Butters and Doofey were sitting in the living room by the front door.

That's when Paul came in through the garage door and excitedly told me to go open the front door.

I opened the front door... and there was Pippen!!

We almost couldn't believe it. She came right into the house and went straight to her food bowl. I was so happy that I snatched her up and just cried into her fur. She must have been glad to see us too, because all Friday night I kept having to move her off of my head so that I could sleep.

I took her to see the vet on Saturday to make sure that she was all right after being gone for a month. The vet gave her a good once over and said that other than being dirty and having lost weight she was in good condition. We got all of her vaccines updated and came home with a dose of flea and tick medicine for all of the cats, just in case.

She's settling back in nicely. The only problem is that she isn't used to Doofey so she hisses at him. Butters has also started hissing at him on and off again. Poor Doofey will just have to re-establish his place in our family. (I can't believe that we now have 3 cats!!)

Sunday was also a great day. We went to Paul's company picnic and it was at the Bee's game this year. This was Will's first baseball game. He did really well considering he's 1 1/2 and you do a lot of sitting at the game.

Here's some pictures of his first baseball experience.

Eventually he got tired of sitting in the stands and Paul took him out in the grassy area behind the back field. I had never been to the Bee's field either, and I was glad that they had areas where little kids could roam freely.
Overall this weekend has reinforced my belief that God takes care of small animals and little children.
