William's Birthday and Easter

The last weekend was really busy for our family.

Saturday was William's 4th birthday.  We had a great party for him and his friends at a local music and movement studio called The Imagination Place.  One of their wonderful teachers, Tiffany, lead us all through 45 minutes of musical playtime. We even got to play with the parachute, which all of the kids loved.

Afterwards we had sandwiches and cake in the music classroom.  William got lots of toys from his friends.

Later in the afternoon we went to Grandma Nina's house to have a party with the family members.  William got a ton of stuff and we had a nice visit with Paul's Aunt Elaine and her family.

By the end of the day we were all wiped out.  We had so much fun!
Sunday was Easter and Paul and I were scheduled to help with the children's church.  I was in the nursery with Lillian and her friends.  Here they are having fun playing with toys and decorating cookies.  Our friend Penny helped keep the frosting from going everywhere.

Paul helped with the kids in William's class.  They made Easter egg rattles by filling plastic eggs with dried beans, and they decorated Easter pencils.  Then they had an Easter egg hunt in one of the classrooms.

We spent the rest of the day at Nina's house and had a wonderful Easter dinner.

By the time we got home that night we were all dead tired.  Unfortunately, I was so tired that when I was getting William out of the car I didn't notice that his foot had swung out and I accidentally closed it in the van's sliding door.  I felt so bad!  We put ice on it and gave him some Tylenol.  The next morning it was swollen and bruised, but not broken.  He managed to get up and run around at daycare with only a little limp.  By this morning most of the bruising was gone and he's not limping anymore.

New Teeth

Lilly has finally gotten some teeth.  Her bottom two front teeth are starting to push through.  You can just feel the tops when you run your finger over her gums.
It's about time!

She's been really wanting to eat everything that the rest of us get, but without the teeth to chew she chokes on everything.  Hopefully now she can start having some better stuff.  Strained peas just aren't cutting it any more!

Bouncys, Baths, and Peas

Lilly is finally big enough to get into the bouncy, so long as William promises not to knock her around.  They had a lot of fun playing at Grandma's house one day.

Once sister had played for a bit we took her out so that William could go nuts.  She kept trying to crawl back in.

Later that night the kids needed a bath, so we put them in together.  Lilly is a lot more stable sitting up so she can have a bath in the big tub now.

She's also starting to try out "real" foods.  We gave her some warmed peas the other night.  She seemed less than impressed with them.  Mostly she pushed them around her tray.

I had made a lovely pot roast for the rest of us, but William decided that he would rather have peas, too.  So, I got him a bowl full.  He ate them all.

This must be proof that he really is an alien, because not many 3 year olds would choose peas for dinner!

Mobile Pictures

I recently figured out how to download pictures from my phone to my computer.  I don't have a data plan for our phones so this took more effort than it should have.  Luckily, it didn't cost me anything so I will hopefully be able to do it more often and share.

William told me "five more minutes" one morning and pulled the covers over his head.

Lilly's Blessing

A few weekends ago we had Lillian blessed at our church.  She did really good and didn't cry when Michael held her to say a prayer.

Afterward she and I went to play in the church nursery.  She cries when we try to leave her in there so I have to stay and play.

A few days later we went to play at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  William wanted to play with the balls so we got them out and Grandpa inflated the little pool and house that they go with.  We decided that Lilly was big enough to play with him.
Grandma took a million pictures.  Here's some of the best.

William seems to think that you need to roar at the camera every time now.

By the way... his hair is like that on purpose.  When I was getting ready he said that he wanted his hair spiked, so I put some of Paul's gel in it.  This is the result after a few hours of playing.
