We took Will for his first visit to the zoo last Saturday. Erin came with us and acted as our photographer.
Will seemed to like it, but I think that at times he wasn't sure what we were trying to point out to him. He didn't think much of the smaller animals, mostly because they were behind glass and hard for him to see if they weren't moving. He did like the bigger animals though.
"What exactly am I supposed to be looking at?"
"What the heck is that big white thing?!"
"I can't tell what's behind the glass."
"Oh, it's an owl."
"Dad, look, sheep!"
"I don't care about animals when there's a camera to smile at."
"Hey Aunt Erin, can I chew on this?"
"I like giraffes."
"I also like popcorn."
"Mom, I still can't figure out why you keep wanting me to look at these windows."
"Whoa, that's one big dog!!"
Overall I think that it was a good trip. There were lots of people there for the holiday weekend. I think that once Will is a bit older, and more aware of what's going on, it will be more fun to go back.
